Dear Friends, It is time for ArtBarn to start our 2008 season and we are going to hold auditions for our first production, Smoke on the Mountain. Please help us reach the residents of the St. Croix Valley with the following information. Thanks for all you do to help ArtBarn and the Valley. With sincere thanks, Ellen Johnson, Program Director St. Croix ArtBarn Holds Auditions for Musical St. Croix ArtBarn Theatre, Osceola,
will hold auditions for the intergenerational musical, Smoke on the Mountain,
on Monday, March 10, at 6:30 PM, in the ArtBarn lobby. Written by
Connie Ray and conceived by Alan Bailey, this story takes place in 1938,
on a Saturday night in a Mount Pleasant , North Carolina , Baptist Church
. Pastor Oglethorpe has invited the Sanders Family Singers to provide
an uplifting evening of “singin’ and preachin’.” More than two dozen
Bluegrass and gospel songs are included from the well known “The Church
in the Wildwood” and "I'll Fly Away," to more obscure ones, such as "Filling
Station", and "Christian Cowboy". Rehearsals will be
in the evening with the production dates of April 24-26 and May 1-3.
Those who audition should be of high school age and adults and must love
to sing. Musicians are also needed for the production including acoustic
guitar, bass, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, ukulele, accordion, and percussion.
Audition materials will be provided; bring with your calendars to note
